Homebirth Midwifery Care

Prenatal Care

Home birth midwifery care begins during your pregnancy with regular prenatal appointments. During these appointments we focus on pregnancy health and wellness, focusing on nutrition, and overall wellbeing of the pregnant person throughout their pregnancy. Throughout pregnancy we talk through any discomforts or problems that you may be having and together create a plan to ensure that you are healthy and comfortable throughout your pregnancy. Morning Dew Midwifery offers all of the typical prenatal lab

work and testing to keep track of the health of you and your baby throughout your pregnancy and to ensure that your pregnancy remains low risk and appropriate for home-birth midwifery care. Prenatal appointments are scheduled for 60 minutes and occur every 4 weeks in the beginning of pregnancy and more frequently as pregnancy progresses to ensure plenty of time for pregnant people to get to ask any questions they may have, address any concerns and truly get to know the midwife who will be attending their birth.

Birth

Tali is on call for your birth from 37 weeks of gestation onwards. When it is time for your baby to make their way into the world Tali will come to your house along with a trained birth assistant or second midwife. We will bring all of the equipment needed to care for you and your baby throughout your labor and birth.  Throughout your labor your midwife team will monitor you and your baby to ensure your labor remains low risk and appropriate for home-birth midwifery care. We are there to support you and offer guidance when needed and then to help your baby come into the world safely. Immediately after the birth we help support bonding and nursing, give your baby a full head to toe exam and clean up and tuck you into bed with your new baby.

Postpartum

We return at 24 hours to your home to check on you and your baby. We offer nursing support, answer postpartum and new parenting questions and do all of babies newborn screenings including the blood spot test, hearing screen and a congenital heart defect screening. We also weigh the baby at each postpartum visit to ensure healthy weight gain. We also return to your home for another visit between 1 and 2 weeks postpartum, and then we see you in the office one final time around 6 weeks postpartum to wrap up our care and talk through the experience of pregnancy, birth and postpartum together

Insurance, Fees & Sliding Scale:

We offer my services using a Green Bottle sliding scale, inspired by the work of Alexis Cunningfolk. This approach is rooted in honesty, accessibility, and community care. Rather than requiring proof of income, it invites you to choose the tier that most accurately reflects your current access to resources.

The intention is simple: Those with greater financial ease help make this work more accessible to families with fewer resources, allowing us to continue offering sustainable, attentive care to all of our clients.

The Green Bottle Sliding Scale

  • $6,500 — Sustaining Tier
This tier is for families who have access to financial stability and discretionary income. Choosing this tier helps sustain my practice, supports the time-intensive nature of midwifery care, and makes lower-tier options possible for others.

  • $5,500 — Standard Tier
This tier reflects the true cost of care for most families. It is appropriate if you can meet your basic needs comfortably and budget for midwifery care without significant strain.

  • $4,500 — Community-Supported Tier
This tier is for families with limited access to financial resources, significant expenses, or financial stressors. Selecting this tier allows care to remain accessible while being supported by the broader community.

Choosing Your Tier

I trust you to choose the tier that aligns with your current reality. No justification is required, and all clients receive the same comprehensive, respectful care, regardless of tier.

Payment plans are available, and I’m happy to discuss options during a consult if you have questions or need support navigating this decision.

This includes all prenatal visits, being on call for your birth from 37 weeks gestation on, attendance at your birth and your immediate postpartum period and three postpartum visits up to 6 weeks postpartum.  Not included in this fee are fees for labs and ultrasounds, however these are usually able to be run through insurance.

Morning Dew Midwifery is not in network with any insurance companies, however we are more than happy to assist in the process of applying for reimbursement for out of network benefits from your insurance company. We also gladly take HSA and FSA payments  and Health Share plans as long as payment can be made via cash, check, or online payment through Paypal, Venmo or Zelle.
